WHAT MAKES THESE DESIGNERS AND PRODUCTS ETHICAL?
All of our designers have told us that their products are made in safe, healthy environments that are free of human rights violations. This means no child labor, no sweatshop-like conditions, and no exploitation. Their workers receive fair wages in the local context for every hour worked.
The designers we carry also tell us they have taken tangible steps to minimize their impact on the environment, give back to communities in need, and generally pay it forward. Some of the measures they've adopted include:
- Using eco-friendly textiles, reclaimed materials, natural and organic fibers, and low-impact dyes
- Instituting sustainable production and operating practices, such as recycling waste and water and reusing surplus fabrics
- Making items by hand or in small batches, resulting in lower carbon emissions
- Employing artisan groups to preserve traditional crafts and create sustainable job opportunities in developing economies
- Providing employee benefits in places where such practices are not the norm. The benefits our designers provide to their workers include access to medical care, on-site childcare, micro-loans, scholarship programs for their children–even organic produce from the company vegetable garden!

DO YOU ACCEPT RETURNS AND EXCHANGES?
Yes. You have 21 calendar days from the receipt of your order to return eligible items for a refund or store credit. We are also happy to accept one-time, complimentary size exchanges. We cannot accept returns on final sale merchandise; items that are ineligible for return will be identified as such when placed in your cart. All items in SALE section are FINAL SALE. HOW DO I TRACK MY ORDER?

DO YOU SHIP OUTSIDE THE U.S.?
Yes, international shipping is currently available worldwide! Ethica has partnered with a trusted third-party company, International Checkout, to fulfill international orders. International Checkout will ship to all destinations around the world, including APO / FPO addresses.
To place an international order, simply put the items you wish to purchase in our Shopping Cart and choose the “International Checkout” option. Your items will be transferred to International Checkout for processing. You may pay by international credit card, PayPal or bank transfer. International Checkout will process your order, including billing, shipping and customer service. Once your order is completed, all inquiries should be directed to International Checkout at support[at]internationalcheckout.com.

IS IT SECURE TO PLACE AN ORDER THROUGH YOUR WEBSITE?
Yes. We use a secure server and all sensitive/payment information you supply is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, which is considered the industry standard and is among the leading software available to encrypt online transactions.
ARE YOUR SHIPPING AND PACKAGING METHODS ECO-FRIENDLY?
Absolutely. Our standard box is made out of 100% recycled and recyclable content, and our jewelry boxes are made out of 100% recycled post-consumer waste. To protect and cushion each shipment, we use 100% recyclable, compostable and biodegradable voidfill wrapping paper, rather than oil-based bubble or foam wraps. Sometimes, we may further cushion an order with recycled, recyclable or biodegradable air pouches, which we source and reuse from shipments sent to us.
Occasionally, high-volume orders or extra-large items exceed the size of our eco-friendly boxes. In these cases, we reuse boxes that are in strong condition whenever possible. As a last resort, we may ship your order in a standard box. (We do not purchase non-eco-friendly boxes in bundle, but on an individual basis when we have exhausted other options.) In all cases, we encourage you to reuse and eventually recycle all of these packaging materials.
Some orders may be shipped to you directly from the designer's warehouse. The packaging methods on such shipments will vary.
Most domestic orders fulfilled by Ethica are individually certified carbon-neutral by UPS. Our other carriers, including our international carrier, do not yet offer individual carbon offsets; however, Ethica is a certified carbon-neutral business (via carbonfund.org), which encompasses both our domestic and international shipments.
